UMEmamas w/ Hilary Curtis – Perinatal Support Group
A supportive and nurturing space where you can just BE, putting aside the everyday demands of work and family. Together we will gently explore ways of connecting with ourselves more authentically and more kindly, with simple embodied practices and a space for reflection.
Feeling alive, balanced, connected and trusting ourselves all become available when we are able to regulate our nervous system, which acts from old and often unhelpful patterns of behaviour when we are under stress. By allowing ourselves the time and space to listen to what our bodies and hearts are telling us, we tap into a deeper source of wisdom where our actions in everyday life reflect our intentions. Practising self- regulating tools in pregnancy lays a strong and steady foundation for birth and motherhood.
About Hilary
I’ve been holding a space for women and their families for 15 years now, through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. By the time we are pregnant, we are usually pretty smart and often very good at our work. But this kind of knowing and being in the world will only take us so far. In my work as a mindfulness teacher, birth educator and doula, I’ve come to understand the profound importance of consciously slowing down and making space for ourselves to tap into the deep knowing of the body which gets lost or drowned out in the noise and busyness of our everyday life.
Standard fee is £12/9/6 concessions
Concessions are available upon request for anyone in receipt of universal credit benefits, or if in need of additional support relating to the Covid19 Pandemic.
