UMEnourish ‘EK CHUA” Cacao Cermony with Marcela Enriquez Wakeham
2020 VERNAL EQUINOX “EK CHUA” CACAO CEREMONY
21st March 2020
On this day where finally, day and night are of equal length it is a time to celebre the balance between extremes that is found amid the seasons, balance between the light and the dark, pain and pleasure, success and failure. A good time for planting the seeds to grow our inner garden.
In Cacao Ceremonies we ask the spirit of cacao Ek Chua to grow and clarify our heart intentions. Ek Chua is a sensuous spirit, it helps us to feel what is under our skin, it mobilises what is impeding our hearts to feel and relate with our life purpose.
I am Marcela Wakeham a somatic movement practitioner and I have been blessed to learn this ceremony through my blood tradition in the cold towns of the Sierra Marde mountains in Mexico. This is the way we communicate with each other when we want to speak our truth, we share a hot bitter chocolate drink in front of the wood burner or fire.
On this important day of the year during the ceremony we will reflect what part of us is holding us back and use the energy of Ek Chua and the planet to bring out our bliss in to action, a ritual of purification and renewal. A day of Native American chants, embodied ecology, meditation and dance. We will finalise with a dance movement meditation to brake with old rigid patterns of movement and enjoy our bodies expressing our true-self, and I literally mean to move and somatically feel our true potential. Let the Cacao spirit to guide you. Ek Chua is benevolent and inclusive.
