Kara Smith

Meet Kara
Kara is a qualified counsellor and family therapist with over 25 years’ experience working in both the public and private sectors. She has Masters degrees in Counselling Psychology (Universities of Brighton/Sussex) and systemic psychotherapy (Tavistock Centre, London) as well as a supervision qualification from the University of Surrey. She is registered with UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and a member BACP and AFT (Association of Family and Systemic Therapy).
Kara works with a wide range of clients: individuals, couples and families. She has worked in education, at CAMHS (the NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service), for Relate and independently. with experience and training in a wide range of psychotherapeutic approaches. Kara is both a mother and a step-mother.
