Dr. Sally Hill

I am a Clinical Psychologist and have worked in the NHS in various roles for over 15 years. More recently, I have taken a break from clinical work to grow and nurture my young family. Prior to this, I worked with children and adolescents, their caregivers, families and the systems around them. I have also worked with adults experiencing a broad range of difficulties such as significant mental health challenges, neurodiversity, physical health conditions, and major life transitions.

I love working with young people and the systems around them to help them move through difficult life experiences. I do so with compassion, creativity and curiosity and by developing a shared understanding of the problems the young person and family are facing. Together we look for stories that affirm the strengths and resilience of the young person or family while also drawing on various evidence based techniques that build up skills that might help guide them through adversity.

I particularly love working with neurodivergent young people and adults, exploring together how they experience the world. I work predominantly from a trauma-informed perspective and a lot of my work with neurodivergent families focusses on the parent-child relationship.

I draw on a broad range of models in my therapeutic work including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment-based therapies and more holistic approaches that look at how the mind and body interact.
